Baylor Scott & White Health

The largest not-for-profit health system and the most extensive multi-specialty physician group practice in the state of Texas, headquartered in this region. They have more than 13,000 employees, 630 hospital beds and over 1,000 staff physicians and research doctors providing healthcare services including complex surgical and transplantation procedures in the region. Baylor Scott & White Partners with Texas A&M’s Health Science Center College of Medicine to train physicians at its four-year medical school.

The Metroplex Health System

A member of the Adventist Health System, and the 10th largest hospital system in the country the Metroplex Health System operates a hospital in the region in partnership with Baylor Scott & White Health offering more than 300 physicians representing 42 medical specialties, 148 acute-care beds and 60 psychiatric care beds in the Metroplex Behavioral Health Center.

McLane Children’s Scott & White Hospital

Offering state-of-the-art facilities and highly skilled practitioners in 40 pediatric specialties, including hematology/oncology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and cardiology. This hospital is the primary academic setting for the Department of Pediatrics at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and a member of the Children’s Hospital Association.

The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center

Located in Fort Cavazos, supports over 40,000 active-duty personnel and more than 145,000 family members as well as retirees within a 40-mile radius. The hospital recently finished a $534 million renovation and expansion to replace their 45-year-old building with a new six-story, 947,000-square-foot hospital.
