Workforce The Central Texas region has a relatively young skilled and educated labor pool; has a tremendous supply of available part-time and shift labor with an average wage of $11.00 per hour. The presence of Fort Hood in the MSA supplies the area with separating and retiring soldiers, approximately 800 per month. As soldiers are processed out the military through the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP), job skills are documented. For information on exiting soldiers' skills, please contact the Belton Economic Development Corporation at info@beltonedc.org or visit www.acap.army.mil. In addition, local universities and colleges host periodic job fairs for employers. Central Texas Workforce System services are developed to promote the delivery of programs and services to meet the needs of small business, industry, and workers. These services are designed to place Central Texans in jobs and to equip workers with the skills needed to foster economic development. The CTW works with employers, employees, and the general public to achieve these goals. See www.workforcelink.com to review the services provided.
