Fort Hood

Located just 20 miles west of Belton, Fort Hood is the largest US army base with more than 52,000 soldiers currently assigned and 100,000 family members (18,300 on post and 81,700 off post).

Fort Hood is the largest single local employer in the State of Texas - with more than 12,000 civilian employees and contractors.

Almost 1,000 soldiers exit the army each month, providing local employers with a never ending supply of highly trained and well-disciplined labor pool.
